SD Gundam Icon Collection by Talos Tsui

This year marked the 20th Anniversary of Mobile Suit Gundam. Because of the anniversary, there were literally tons of merchandise sold. I am sure there have been many Gundam icons created in the past. So instead of making the head shoots of the characters or M.S. (mobile suits) from the series, I decided to create the Super Deformed versions. They were inspired by the Gashapon (capsule toys) I am collecting this summer... I have 54 of them sitting on my counter right now.

You might think Gundam is another Japanese robot show with each show fighting a different evil robot. That's not the case here. The Gundam universe brings out a lot of messages. Among them are how the life of a group of teenagers change during the war. It shows how people react to and are afraid of how war changes their life, friendships and love. Also, the series marks the first time there is no clear line between the good guy and the bad guy. The sorrow of a soldier, the conflict and confusion of finding someone you love that just happens to be on the opposite side of the firing line.

The original series might be dated to watch it now. But Gundam 0080 War in the Pocket and Gundam MS 08th Team are my favorites so far. I Still have 97 episodes of Z Gundam and ZZ Gundam to watch..... so much to do, so little time.

Hope you enjoy my passion and my hobbies.
